Nesting for the single ladies

I've been nesting....and my baby is my future house! Yes yes to all you mamma's out there I may not know the joy of expecting a child but while my womb stays filled with cobwebs I'll enjoy my single lady nesting!

Derek and I have been looking for a second property to call all mine until the day I become MRS.Lind then I guess he can move his stuff in ;) While he enjoys his bachelor days in his current house which will eventually be our rental home, I have been dreaming of the day we find the perfect little place for me....to decorate! I even dream of buying my own toilet paper! haha, can you tell I've never owned a home when the though of buying toilet paper for my own home seems exciting?? It's fun to smile at the little things though, smiling never hurt anyone. I am hoping we are able to find the perfect little place in the next several months so by then I will hopefully have my few little house hold items ready to go!

So I have trading shopping for clothes out for shopping for household items.  I just began this fun journey and find myself wanting to buy everything.  I have yet to find a common theme among the many things I find beautiful but I though I would share the glee I was feeling over my small purchases!

I found these beautiful pillows at Ross for only $4 a piece! I was very excited, however its too much brown for my taste so I am blog browsing to find ways to add some color to the pillows.

I love these white pillows with the pink sewn flowers on them, they would brighten any room up!

I am obsessed with this color green, I found these little crystallized apples for either a kitchen or living room accessory, I am not sure just yet!

And my final and most FAVORITE little treasure...my little Olive Oil lime green jar for the kitchen! In case you couldn't tell; I am all about thrifting...this baby only cost $2 at TJMax! Gotta love a good deal!

This house is not our home

Alright so Derek and I have been scouting houses trying to find the perfect "this house just happens to be $3.99 because you deserve it" house so we don't have to live in his bachelor house when we get married...needless to say we are still looking.  So Derek happens to come across a beautiful home in an amazingly low price range...it was a 4 bedroom, 2 story, in a flood area which we didn't think much of...check out the picture that the website shows:
Very cute right?! Derek and I were so excited to get on this and steal it while it was available! Also our friends lived about 5 miles away so I was already planning scrap book/xbox parties in my head for the next 2 years.  Our poor friends.  So then we decide to stop by the house unofficially...mind you it had been lightly raining for about 3 days now.  And this is the condition we find the house in:

Front "lawn" aka welcome to the marsh lands.

Derek checking out the mini ocean going on in the yard.

Yah I can see where the "flood area" note came from!

The backyard was like a stagnate river...very scary!
So then upon Derek's great idea of checking the house out on Zillow.com we came across these pictures of the damage done to the inside that the other site didn't feel the need to post:
Nice huh?

So it goes on and on, the sad pictures of the damage the high floods caused this house.  Thankfully we came to see the house while it was raining to see the minor damage in the yard on a small scale of how high the water can come.  Some poor soul is going to buy this house in the dead of summer and not know the floods they will face when the rain comes...and in Washington state...oh the rain, how it comes!

So the search for our home continues...

First posting....eeeehhh...

So this little Texan is in love with North Bend Washington! Derek and I came out to spend time with his gramma Betty at her home for a few days and it has been nothing short of relaxing. Oh I am a happy girl.  May make this a regular mini vaca! ...Well if Derek foots the gas bill that is hehe.  Enjoy the pictures!

This is the gorgeous view of Mt. Si from grammys porch :)  Apparently according to Grammy Betty, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were interested in a house just down the river from her...of course this was back in their happier days.  How crazy would that have been... "Oh yah Brad Pitt's my neighbor...no biggie."
I never get tired of going to Snoqualmie Falls! Trust me you can ask Derek...he was mubling and grumbling how we've already been there a billion times haha!

Beauty-beauty-beautyful to me!

Yes I wore flip flops in 40 degree raining weather ha! I think it's a Texan thing! And I had to wear my Dainty Button headband....thats a fashion thing ;)

Visited the old abandoned Preston Logging Mills...

As I entered the creepy hole on the right, Derek was kind enough to scare me from the left side! I ran out screaming, soaking my feet in cold rain water to find him laughing his head off.... by the way anyone wanna buy defected boyfriend? Going once, going twice...
Made friends with a lovely robin at the mills...
He felt the need to hide as Derek came closer lol.
